Pre-Formation

Pre-Entrance and Admission

Pre-Formation is the period from an individual’s first expression of interest in our Community until the day of formal entrance into the postulancy.

It serves to make the transition an experience of gradual spiritual growth and enables her, with the grace of God, to enter the postulancy with greater docility and generosity.

The Pre-Formation Program consists of regular contacts with the Vocation Director and the gradual introduction to a spiritual program. Personal contact is maintained by correspondence and visits. These contacts are utilized as opportunities for vocation direction and for spiritual guidance.

A Catholic woman may be admitted to our Community provided she meets canonical requirements and is motivated by a sincere desire to live religious life manifested by a free, unconditional, personal response to God’s call. She must be capable of fulfilling the duties of this state with a spirit of joy. Physical and mental health, including the degree of emotional maturity necessary to live our community life with happiness and satisfaction, are required. (Constitution, #125)

In order to be considered for entrance into our Community, the individual must have completed high school. Older women, including widows, may be accepted provided they meet the requirements for admission. (Directory, #98)

We accept women aged 18-40 years. (Exceptions can be made for candidates over 40.)
