Loyal recognition and safekeeping should be accorded to the spirit of the founders as also to all the particular goals and wholesome traditions which constitute the heritage of each community. It serves the best interest of the Church for communities to have their own special character and purpose. (Perfectae Caritatis, #2)

The special and most outstanding spirit of our Community is the loving simplicity which our Holy Father Saint Francis practiced to a very high degree. We express Franciscan simplicity in true Christlike love and charity and sincere, joyful, and hearty relationships with our Sisters.

Charism

Our Spirit

In living the Gospel Life

We search the Sacred Scriptures

In order to joyfully and simply

Follow in the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ.

A spirit of openness

Expressed in poverty,

In metanoia,

Calls for a continual turning away from self

And a turning toward God and neighbor.

Our daily encounter with Christ in prayer

Overflows into true fraternity,

Living out of the Word of God

In peace and in unity

By the acknowledgment of our bond as gifted Sisters

In the family of God.

As servants of God

Obedient servants of the Church

And gentle and loving servants of one another

We are called to identify with the poor in spirit

To live a pure life of chaste service

In imitation of “The Suffering Servant”

Who is Christ Himself.

We will travel this earth as Pilgrims

Walking through life together in the Spirit

Strengthened by the Eucharist

Praising our God in the Liturgy of the Hours,

And allowing Him daily to transform us

By our life of penance.

In emptying ourselves for others

In humble sharing of the gifts

We have received from our Father

We bring the Peace of Christ among men.
